since I haven’t posted in quite a while, I figured I put something up here…
this one is a lobby that I did a couple months back and it came back for design changes and other things…I took the chance to improve on some of the lighting and mats…
I was going for a more artsy look/feel rather then photreal…
I know I don’t like that material on the column base either…but they (the interior designers) choose that for the base…it’s a weird blueish/greysh granite stone…it looks odd even in reality…I probably would’ve put stainless steel if I had the choice
as for render times…it took a while, because most mats have glossy reflections on them…same with all the glass…soft glossy relflections.
plus a lot of work in post (Pshop)…
I’d say rendertime was about 8 to 10 hours for a 2000 wide at high settings (GI and glossies)…on a dual Xeon at 2.4 ghz w/ 1 GB of ram…
