loft/blend 2 shapes over path. AutoCAD Easy, but how in Max?

Hi all

I have 2 diferrent shapes at either end of a path. In AutoCAD I use the loft command, select my 2 shapes, enter, “p” for path, select path and presto, 1 shape merges or blends into the other shape over my path.

How can I achieve this using MAX only?

It’s just as easy, create a line for your path. Create the two shapes. go to compound objects with your path selected then select your first shape at 0 in the path parameters then type in 100 in the path parameters and select you second shape. you have a series of options to play with in deformations. Plus you can fool with the external shapes and they will be reflected in the loft.

thanks that did the trick

Theres also the cross-section and surface modifiers that can do this as well.
