long long render times version 1.46.10

i upgraded to version 1.46.10 and well im on a dual xeon 3.0 ghz with 4 gigs of ram and im trying to render a simple scene it has 20 vray lights and well it doesnt even complete 1 single pass of a 512 x 400 image. What is up with this? It rendered fast adn easy on one of my p4 boxes at higher resolution.. eeek

anyone have any suggestions!??!

There are a bunch of other threads about this already. Basically, 1.09 settings will give you a longer rendertime in 1.46 because 1.46 needs lower settings to get comparable quality.
