Big wish
a MAC OS compatible version for SU 6..
Re: MAC OS version ?
Yep - this is a big wish from many Sketchup users. There is now a build of the V-Ray SDK that will work on OSX (Intel-based Macs only I believe). So it is primarily just a matter of us porting our UI over. I think our next major release will probably support Mac OSX as well. Iām not sure about Motorola machines though.
Re: MAC OS version ?
very interested too !
Re: MAC OS version ?
Oh Oh !
good news.. I hope youāll propose a cross update for the license PC ā MAC ![]()

do you have any idea when this could be? ???
Re: MAC OS version ?
i am planning to buy a macbook pro with a vrtual pc. will vray work for su6?
Re: MAC OS version ?
Well if youāre going through boot camp, then it should work fine. Iām not sure how well V-Ray works within emulators (like virtual PC and Parallels). Joeās got a mac, so maybe he can say if heās tried it or not.
Re: MAC OS version ?
Iāve got MAcpro and Macbook pro, with bootcamp SU6 and V ray it is just fine !
Iāve tried with Parallels, but it is not workable as SU canāt find a suitable graphic card drivers..
So I suggest to stick to Bootcampā¦
Cheers
Re: MAC OS version ?
what i hate abot boot camp is that you have to reboot each time to get back to mac. i hear that their is another program way better than parallel is VMware Fusion.

Re: MAC OS version ?
me 2, feels like weāre waiting for ages for this⦠:-\
Re: MAC OS version ?
The RC that is currently available is a Service Releaseā¦our next major release is down the road quite a waysā¦(ie this will take a little time)
Re: MAC OS version ?
Iām not the biggest fan of the workflow Vray comes with, but if there where a Mac version, well ⦠Iād might very well get me a license. 8)
Re: MAC OS version ?
Our workflow (which I agree is in need of work) probably wouldnāt change on a mac versionā¦just because its on a mac doesnāt mean that its all of the sudden going to be better. BTW, the upcoming service release will significantly change material workflow which is a major part of things. So Iād give that one a whurl before you wait for the mac version
Re: MAC OS version ?
Well ⦠I just got it anyway. And I must say, Iām seriously enjoying Vray. Running it under BootCamp, and everything goes real smoothly.
The workflow has indeed improved a little. All in all: fine product.
Re: MAC OS version ?
Same here. It runs smoothly in bootcamp (Vista 64bit) on the Macpro.
Actually, I never boot my Mac in Macos.
I wonder , would my Leopard die from starvation eventually? It has never been fed⦠![]()
Re: MAC OS version ?
Neither has mine, since I installed Ultimate 64. Shame, 'cause itās a good OS. Better than Vista, in my opinion. Not that I donāt like Vista - Iām not one of them sectarian Mac lovers. Leopard (or Tiger, or ā¦) just doesnāt have Windowsās, err, ātrademark annoyancesā. ![]()
I never liked the Mac version of SU, though. āFeelsā wrong.
Totally OT: you ever tried Silo?
Re: MAC OS version ?
[OT Back at ya]: yes I did. Looked as a real fine app, but as with all new things slightly more complex than sketchup I soon gave up ![]()
By the way, the only software I would boot Leopard for, would be Final Cut Pro, as the Adobe video editing software (premiere and after effects) are monstruous and kind of counter intuitive.
Re: MAC OS version ?
yeah please a mac os version of vray for sketchup please ;D
