MacBook Pro 16" (2019) 32GB is trying to take off (fan noise) running Enscape

Hi,

Anyone can advice me running Enscape icm Sketchup on my Macbook Pro 16" (2019), 32Gb Ram, macOS 12.6.5 that is trying to take off (fan noise) when I’m using Enscape?

Even a complete clean install of my Macbook didn’t helped

Thanks!

@DaveQQ , thanks for your post.

Enscape can be quite heavy in terms of performance required from your machine. On top of that the Intel CPU / dedicated GPU inside also gets rather hot during use, so the fans have to provide a lot more cooling compared to just doing office work for example.

You can of course try a different application similar to Enscape or even a more complex game or such in terms of graphics, to see if this only occurs with Enscape, which is highly unlikely.

Last but not least you can check out this external Reddit thread here:

It seems to be a known behavior but perhaps resolvable partially at least judging by what the users are stating.

Let me know in case any further questions come up!

Likely that your laptop has a graphics card that only meets the minimum requirement of 4gb ram (and is 4 years old).

The AMD Radeon Pro 5300M with 4GB memory on the GPU is going to struggle with Enscape in 2023.

That’s totally normal for anything demanding - the machine gets hot from working and the fans come out.
