There’s an article in the latest Discover how one artist is making buildings/structures look like miniatures. He’s shifting a camera’s focus so that the surrounding areas are heavily blurred and it ends up making his images look like toys:
Even if it can be done easily in 3d, i find it wonderful in real life buildings, especially with long distance shots! Really cool effect, soon to appear in a movie for sure… :lol:
It can come in handy for creating pieces such as ‘Balsa’ renderings. Not everyone is directly aware of over-using DOF and the effect it creates. It’s a little bit presumptuous to think otherwise.
