I couldn’t make the non LWF and no Gamma work so I gave up. This image was created using vraysun/sky and vraycam. I used gamma 2.2 in both max and vray’s color mapping. I didn’t do any color correction of any kind.
The camera settings are f-number 8.0, shutter speed 125, and ISO 100. The sun and sky are both multipliers of 1.
GI is Irradiance map for the first bounce of 1 and Quasi-Monte Carlo for second bounce of .8
Irradiance map Custom with Min rate of -5, Max rate of -2, HSph. 50, Interp 20, Clr .3, Nrm .1, and Dist .1
Color Mapping is Reinhard with a Multiplier of 1, Burn value of .85, and Gamma of 2.2
Comments and suggestions are mandatory! I would like to find a way to have the stucco texture pop, but I can’t seem to get it. I have a strong bump in the bump slot.
In general nice lighting, I always like these sunrise shots. First off, I’d move the camera a little to the right to have the grass in the foreground instead of the asphalt. The asphalt also seems to grey(should probably be darker) and less reflective. The trees also look a little too green. The cars look pretty nice, where are they from? The sky looks a little dull, especially for the dramitc look I think your going for with the lighting.
The stucco looks right for the lighting and distance (i.e. no visible bump). If they’re not in already, maybe some joints in it though to give it some texture?
Awsome… not nearly as awsome as other stuff I see here. The cars are RPC’s, but I don’t care to much for them. The sky is post so I have control over it. I’ll play with the camera angle. Keep the suggestions coming. My images always look better after you guys/gals reply with advice.
yikes they are? Also Id break up your glossiness (or reflectiveness) of the pavement with a rather large scale grime map. It just looks a little too smooth.
Nice render dude.
To me.. the lighting.. sky and .. glossy road looks like a photo taken just after a sun shower, cool effect!
However the road looks a little icy to me. Needs to be rougher and less “overall” glossy.. or something like that anyway.
I agree. Everything else looks great, but I think you should work on the pavement a little. It really is a little to glossy, and looks a little more like plastic than concrete :?
I don’t know if anyone else has any better suggestions, but I would try to find a better map.
here is an update. I still have to tweak the parking lines and my storefron glass went crazy. What in the heck would cause this? I didn’t change any glass settings.
Here is an update image. I ended up using the .255 color correct method. Sun and Sky is 1 and vray camera is f-stop 8, shutter speed 40, with a ISO of 100. Comments to help improve are welcome. Still missing that WOW!
Looking much better. The asphalt still seems a little too bright and I think the sky needs to be brighter to match the daylighting. Some of the trees in the parking lot are a little over saturated but the foreground landscaping (bush, rocks, grass) looks terrific though.
