I cannot find anything out about the .map format you where talking about Morbid - I did a couple of searches over at the Vray forum and have just posted a question. If it works the way you describe it, it would be the sweetest thing. Can you shed any more light on it for me … please :roll:

Thanks for the link - I did a search for posts on displacement and Vray early today and didn’t come up with anything. I use Explorer in work so searching is a pain - when you hit back to try another thread the search topics are gone - nightmare. Unfortunately there is no mention of the .map file type but there are some interesting pointers in this thread. This subject is getting more complex the more I look into it - so many parts to the process and things to remember - I can feel my brain melting.

Yeah i think its a bit of a tricky subject.

Hopefully Morbid will chime in soon and clear up what he meant by the whole .map thing.
