Material Library browser - all textures look dark

Hey guys,
after upgrading to VRay 6.0 I see all the materials after I import them from VRay Library browser into material editor much darker (like the textures have different gamma or something).
I’ve never had a problem with it before, but atm it basicaly makes importing any VRay material from VRay material library useless for me.

Did I overlook something, did something change? I suppose it is just one parameter somewhere?

Thx for help

(attached a screenshot what the Vray does in a completely new file)

A.

further diggin into it : VrayBitmaps do it (regular Bitmaps are fine), I’m not sure why…

Maybe you already tried this, but are your 3ds Max gamma settings correct? Go to Preferences → Gamma and LUT and make sure that you turn on “Enable Gamma/LUT Correction”, “Affect Color Selectors”, “Affect Material Editor” and then set “Gamma” to 2.2.

Ty for the answer, i have this disabled and it was not a problem until i switched to vray 6.

If i create any material, the bitmaps are looking fine as long as they’re in the regular Bitmap slot, if I however link them to Vray Bitmap slot they appear dart (which is strange - at least to me)

Hi, if you enable the “Gamma/Lut Correction” in your “Preference Settings” that should work well with the default settings of the “VRayBitmap”. If you disable “Gamma/Lut Correction”, it should show the darker preview and it is expected to work like that.
With the “General bitmap”, you have the control to overwrite the Gamma of your bitmap from the import window. With the introduction of V-Ray 5, “VRayHDRI” texture has been renamed to “VrayBitmap” where you can find more controls on how to manipulate the Gamma in “Color space transfer function”.
