Am i missing something because i dont seem to find any material presets from V-ray for Max like there is in V-ray for rhino?

No such thing in V-Ray for 3DS MAX.
Been asking for that for years. Their answer was VRScans
It`s not presets but there`s always vray-materials.de , a library of free materials. Not sure how they perform in later versions of Vray though.
