my first question is about a certain material, which I have a problem with replicating.
Its called Exyd and I tried using a jpg. of water droplets and silver material but that didnt give the correct impression.
Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Second point is:
how come I cannot post a new topipc in V-ray for Rhino: General or any of the Forums?
Ok, but how would I make a bump map out of that material? NormalMap-Online I use this website. But I have to admit I dont know what to use where when it comes “Normal, Displacement, Ambient Occ. and Splecular”. You know what I mean? Like which of these fit in which options in rhino?
You could play with frequency and maybe octaves (maybe you need to change the noise type to get it working (perlin?)). So you could add a small noise over the large noise. Also bump intensity could be to high.
Depending on the type of Exyd you want to achieve I urge you to experiment by using a Composite texture, slotting two Noise textures (or Noise + Cellular) with different parameters (amplitude/frequency) and then trying different operators to produce a two-layer (shallow and deep) bump effect.
