Material size problem

Hello, this is a really basic question to a problem I can’t seem to wrap my head around.

Take a look at the picture. The texture to the left is seemingly larger. How do i match it with the right hand texture?

What is the map being used? Everything should be just the same as with any other renderer in C4D - e.g. if a texture map, click the material on the object and adjust the Tiling in the Tag settings.

I’ve tried every mapping method as well as tiled it up to 100.
Nothing seem to change.
I should mention that the material is a layered material. The base is a highly reflective bump mapped material, and the second layer is a kind of clear coat with color.
Could the layered material be my issue?
I have tried duplicating the layered material and all it’s content materials, lowering the bump size etc. Nothing seem to happen in the IR.

This seems like such a basic thing that I should know at this point.
I someone know any good documentation on this topic? I don’t even know what to search for.

Select texture tag and try projection to Cubic (in most cases cubic works) and reduce the Length U and Length 100 to 50 or 30… see where it matches.

That did unfortunately not work.
The weird thing is that nothing seem to change in size as I try different settings and tiling.

Would still be useful to know what the map was :smiley: A texture map, a noise shader?

You mention using the layered shader, what happens if you use that map directly in a shader and not in a layered shader? That would isolate whether the layered shader is affecting things.

I figured it out!

Feel like such a moron - the problem was not the bump map, but the reflective map that had the wrong settings. I set it to “Object” and lowered the relative scale, which gave me more consistent looks on both models. Thanks for the help everyone! One more lesson learned.
