Material test ball ?

Where could I get the material test ball ?
Can’t find it on the forums.

I think you are referring to the material studio? That is available in our downloads section

I know I’m digging up old threads here, but has anyone made a material ball or test scene for SU yet? It would be nice if I could control the environment rather than just use the materials studio when testing and tweaking materials. I thought about replicating the vray-materials.de one or something like it, but it seems like a bit of a hassle…

I remember doing one a long time ago. At the time the one Gijs had made use a bmp map that was 100+mb. Because of how SU holds onto the mapping this cause the file size to jump considerably. I’ll see what I can dig up, as its a mesh file in Rhino (ie no crazy conversion). Gijs actually just updated the Rhino one about 3 weeks ago, so I’ll see what comes of it.
