MAX 2008 viewport

V-Ray V-Ray for 3ds Max Issues

I have problem with max 2008 & vray 1.50.00 sp1 when I switch from wireframe to smoot+higlights mode view that sometimes is getting crashed
Max 9 + vray 1.5 rc4 works perfect
Everything is 64 bit, xp 64 bit, dual xeon x5365, geforce 8800 gts, 8 gb ram, in max direct x driver choosed
I had a similar problem on max 9 with vray 1.5 rc 1 a months a go…
Anyone can say something about this problem?

It might happen if any VRayMtl has its “Show map in viewport” option on. Turning it off should fix it.

Yes, that fix the problem… but Vlado, it’s very difficult for me to work without see the map in viewport.
It this vray 1.50.00 sp1 bug or max 2008 problem?

I used to have a similar issue in Max 8 RC 2. But after upgrading to 2008 and Vray 1.511, it went away. I believe the crash was caused by my graphics card and not Vray. I read that higher-end cards, such as my 1GB Fire GL Pro, would work much better in 2008, and it does.

Thanks Clifton for information but on the same cpu max 9 + vray 1.5 rc4 works fine…
