MAX 2009 and Color Correction Map

I decided to try out Max 2009 on a small project and I’m running into an issue with the new Color Correction Map.. I don’t know how to use it! Here are the issues I’m having:

01) I’m using the LWF method and in the past would simply use the CC plugin from Cuneyt Ozdas and set the Gamma for maps to 2.2. Unfortunately that plug-in has not been compiled for Max 2009 yet (I even tried installing the Max 9 version and it didn’t work).

02) If I try to create a new material and use the Max 2009 Color Correction Map I get washed out results. In the map parameters I’ve checked the Advanced radio button (Under the Lightness Tab) and apply the 2.2 value to the RGB Gamma/Contrast and the material gets washed out even more. If I use the inverse value (.4545) it starts to look better but how can this be?

03) I have several Vray materials in my libraries and have no idea how to easily migrate those to use the new Color Correction Map. I’m dreading the task of recreating those materials all over again.

If anyone can straighten out my thinking I’d greatly appreciate it!
