So will Max 9 be revealed at Siggraph? Anyone heard any news regarding Max 9?
And I know this is probably useless, but will we be seeing Vray 1.5?

Jesus… I just installed Max 8 a couple months ago. I’ll be happy though if they make some big changes. Are they ever going to update their NURBS workflow and UI? Its been the same since Max 5 I think. You would think they would want to keep up with Rhino in that area.
I think we will probably get 64bit finally 
But I would not hold out for 1.5 and if it does appear I have a fairly old boot I will be munching on happily.
It was hard enough getting Max 8 working with Mechanical Desktop - I’d hate for them to release Max 9 any time soon! 
64 bit would be great though! How about leaking that internal build of Max 8 64bit? 
Edit: Oh and dual core support as well! I hate not being able to use my pc’s full grunt when importing dwgs :evil:

I am certain Max 9 will be shown at Siggraph this year. Max is on a 12 month release cycle. That means that by Oct or so we should have R9 in hand.

Max 9 should be partially 64bits, so some functions to take advantage of the extra power, but it is not a re-write. and the import - export / compatibility with Maya to be ‘seamless’
These should be the main features of the next build, but once again, it is rumours…

To 9 or not to 9 that is the question
For me it is more a question of the them having the balls to reveal the whole brand new spanking version of max then max 9. I’m pretty sure we will get a new release of something at Siggraph but what that something is ? Who knows - (probably about 10 people on this forum). I will be super pissed off if all we get is a half assed Maya Max pipeline. Not that it wouldn’t be nice, but intergration with what has been the biggest rival over the last 7 years doesn’t really improve the daily grind for the max users in the audience.
It won’t be long now - only time can tell ( unless one of the people in the know cracks first )
