Merging files automatically,

Hi all, it is pretty annoying trying to work with merging different scenes and anima drop, What is the issue of merging the anima things automatically. The whole system is pretty weird.

Hi Alex,

Anima is a project based application. We follow this pattern design in Anima to optimize as much as possible the resources used in each project (geometry backgrounds, assets), and to help in keeping the organization of the different scenes that might be involved in each project.

Therefore, as some of the resources are shared between scenes, the merge process needs to follow some basic rules (i.e. you can’t directly merge scenes from different projects, or scenes that use different backgrounds).

There is a simpler alternative method to transfer content from one scene to another, which involves selecting the objects in one scene and copying and pasting them into the other. This method allows you to place the pasted objects in the destination scene, bypassing any resource or project limitations. However, bear in mind that the pasted objects will adapt automatically to the background geometry of the destination scene, so the results may be unexpected, depending on how you use this method.

There are various reasons for going with a library like forest pro, apart from storage space, it is the curation of assets. I am not using Anima standalone only the drop, and I produce stills no animation, i do 1 or two flythroughs per year. I think that having assets downloaded for all projects and an active library of the frequent downloaded assets will save space but also help with the curation of the assets. Usually when I start a new project let’s say in UAE, Japan, or UK I will go to my older projects and select assets that can work from furniture, plants, simple walls with a local material, classic people etc and create a temp merge. It works for everything apart from Anima.
I will try the copy function … Putting the right people in a project could take hours, especially if you have big spaces like a world expo etc …
