I am wondering if there would be a way to use a splash coming from real flow and integrate it with a phoenixFD ocean and render the resulting liquid as only one surface?
I know we can import prt files and realf flow can export prt files too but it seems phoenixFD can only render the prt with the foam shader. Can’t it use it to mesh it and blend it with an infinite ocean?
Well, if you can mix vector displacement - that can be an answer If u mean splash - piece of geo… U can use alembic instead of prt, and use vray point shader mtl OR not using it, vrayproxy alembic can render in tiny-spheres mode, where you can assign any amterial, u like.
I wonder how exactly the phoenixFD ocean trick mix the displacement… but anyway I don’t know how to create a displcement out of a complex splash. That would need to be vectorial and animated…
With vray point shader or vray roxy alembic I doubt the result would be a smooth mesh joining the ocean and the splash… Thanks for the inputs anyway I will try to explore them.
the phoenix mesher works over grid, not over particles. however you can convert particles into texture using the particle texture tool, and then put this texture into the surface slot.
