I’m afraid, even though we’ve made improvements to our reflections throughout versions released mirrors (when you’re looking directly at them especially) may still show artifacts like you can see in the picture - We’re aware of the demand for even more faithful results, so please also feel free to forward your voice to our product managers directly. It can also help to have ray-tracing enabled with a capable NVIDIA or AMD card.
You can find an example and explanation which goes into detail as to why you experience this here:
Since this is a simple scene you may also want to try a trick where you copy everything you wish to see visible in your reflection, and place that copy behind a glass plane instead of a mirror like this user did:
I’m aware that this is more of a “hack”, but not unheard of in real-time applications, especially in games where this is sometimes used as well (a scene copied to give the illusion of a perfect reflection).
@Chalk_1 , we’ll release our Enscape 3.5 preview 8 (in about 2-4 hours) today that improves upon our reflections/mirrors if you wish to give it a try, as it should help with this behavior you showed in your example. Check out the News & FAQ section later on, the preview thread at the top cannot be missed.
While we cannot promise perfect reflections yet, our developers are doing our best to add further enhancements of course.
