Mirror/Tile map in max

Hi, I notice something “new” in max 2012 and I hope I just make something wrong with this very basic thing ! Let’s have a look to the 2 screenshots, it’ll be easier to understand what I mean… What’s going on ?

EDIT : I know, I’m certainly a dumbass with this question but it’s really annoying for me ! does anyone notice this ? is there a way to come back to a normal tiling/non tiling map in viewport

Am I alone with this problem ?

What exactly is the difference in settings between the two versions (or they are exactly the same)?

Best regards,
Vlado

It’s the same scene… the only difference is max 2011 and 2012.. so I suppose it’s something with Nitrous but I don’t know what…

I do not have time to play atm. But maybe something like the map beeing set to display in viewport vs. the material or something alike?

Have you tried the “realistic” materials in the viewports?

Best regards,
Vlado

As I said before, I’m a dumbass !
I was sure to have activated realistic material WITH maps… That was my error
Anyway, I’m not very convinced by Nitrous…
Thx for your advices !

Well, I found that was a old problem in fact… ok when I select “realistic or shade material with maps”, it’s fine but with a complex scene, it’s not the same thing…
When I try to pan or zoom or move around, it’s taking more time ! my GTX 460 2go seems to be out ! I’m really surprised and disappointed
I’ll have to search how to improve performances with nitrous… I hope to be able to use it, it’ll be sad to revert to directX
