Currently this is a limitation - may be fixed in the future (same when no IES are used, only directionality).
The workaround is to use an invisible light source (make the Corona Light invisible, but cast light into the scene), and a visible “glowing” representation of the light source (using CoronaMtl with self-illumination or CoronaLightMtl with “emit light” option disabled).
