Missing details in render

Can someone help me please. When rendering in Enscape, the reflections of the slats above disappear/fade out on the windows as seen in the image. Has anyone had similar issues in the past and if so were you able to figure out what the cause was? Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

Is the current texture size in Enscape renders limited to 4k? I saw a post for 2020 stating that this was the case, but was not able to find anything more recent, and I’m wondering if the render is being down-sampled.

Thanks in advance!

Hello @cookiemonster_1 . From the get go:

  • what is the Enscape version that you are using?
  • what GPU are you using?
  • do you have hardware accelerated ray tracing enabled?

From the image you shared, I assume that the slats are modelled as geometry.

One reason that the reflections fade out is that the project has a lot of geometry and not every object is picked as a candidate for reflections. Since the slats are very thin, it could be that their “importance” is lower from other objects and that’s why we don’t see that slats that are further away from the glass.

Hi, @Ilias_Kapouranis ! Thank you for your response. You’re correct - the slats are modeled as geometry. Is there a setting(s) that would allow the geometry to be more visible? If not, it’s not an issue. I’m more so curious of any potential workarounds.

Hardware accelerated Ray-Tracing is disabled

GPU: NVIDIA Quadro RTX 3000

Enscape v. 3.4.0.84039 (limited to this version currently as newer versions have not been approved by our design department)

Hello @cookiemonster_1 . Since HW accelerated ray tracing is disabled, we mainly rely on screen space reflections and a very limited software emulated ray tracing technique. The problem with screen space reflections is that we can only reflect what is already on the screen and for everything outside of the screen we need ray tracing. In the following video you can see how the reflections of the trees are no longer visible when the trees are no longer “inside the screen”.

The only setting that could help you is enabling HW accelerated Ray-Tracing and probably disabling HW accelerated Sun Shadows (because from the view you shared, you won’t have much benefit from them and your GPU has 6Gb of VRAM).

Other than that, you could change the view so that more slats are in the image and be reflected by screen space reflections.

@Ilias_Kapouranis - Thank you so much for your assistance on this issue. I’ll try your recommendations. Thanks again, and take care. :folded_hands:
