We are experiencing an issue with our Archicad project. All the Enscape objects in our drawing have suddenly turned into “missing library parts.” This problem occurred unexpectedly, as the objects were still visible and functional just a day earlier.
We tried opening older versions of the project, but the objects are also missing there, which is puzzling. We haven’t made any significant changes to the library or the project settings that we’re aware of.
Has anyone encountered this issue before, or does anyone have suggestions on how to restore the missing objects? We would greatly appreciate your advice.
Thank you in advance!
Dear Enscape team / forum members,
About a year ago, we reported the issue described below, but unfortunately, we have not received any response so far. The problem still persists and continues to disrupt our workflow.
Since this issue has not resolved itself and we have not been able to find a solution, we are reaching out again in the hope that someone from the Enscape team or the community can help. Have there been any updates or insights regarding the cause of this problem or possible solutions?
We would be very grateful for any assistance.
Kind regards,
Joke Swinnen
HI,
I experience a similar issue, where my Enscape Assets would disappear from the Enscape Window.
I resolved this By removing Uninstalloing Enscape, and then removing all traces of the program, and its downloaded assets etc.
Another machine also started doing this, this time i just delete downloaded stuff from Enscape Directories.
sorry for the short description.
Hope this helps
This is also happening to me… let me try to explain my insight..
- This only happend AFTER the big COSMOS switchover
- Yes, I put in objects one day, get renderings… then the next day opening up Enscape says there are 15 assets missing.
- Note that it does NOT tell you WHICH assets are missing
- And not ALL enscape assets are missing
- And they show up perfectly fine in ArchiCAD’s 3d window
- It MAY be the case that these are objects that I’ve EDITED the archicad 2d version of… but I’m not 100% sure
- I also notice that the objects ARE available in the ENSCAPE LIBRARY BROWSER
- But Even if I place a new instance, THAT will not show up either.
- I also notice that the missing assets appears in the DOWNLOADED pane of the asset library browser, not the ONLINE PANE.
- I do NOT know where any DOWNLOADED assets would live on my Hard Drive as I don’t see a way to tell them where to go
- And a quick search came up with nothing
Please let me know if this can be corroborated and if there is a fix or just something I’m doing wrong.
d.
So I did find the DOWNLOADED LOCATION on my hard drive… (search for the ID NUMBER instead of the name)…
I do have a palette of DOWNLOADED items… and 100% of the missing items come from this folder. (but not ALL in the folder end up missing)…
I’m on to something… but don’t know how to get them to show.
Hi,
Thank you for your reply!
However, I believe the issue you describe is a different one.
The problem we reported has been occurring for at least two years — well before the COSMOS switchover. The issue you mention also happens to us occasionally, but it seems unrelated to our original problem. It might be best to start a new forum topic for that specific issue so it can get proper attention from the Enscape team.
We did receive a response from Enscape through their ticket system suggesting that the solution proposed by ADesign in the forum might solve our problem. However, we find this method rather cumbersome to perform every time.
For reference, this is what Enscape recommended doing:
Navigate to Add/Remove programs in Windows.
- Uninstall Enscape, the Chaos Unified Login and the Chaos License Server by using the ‘Uninstall’ button
Following the completion of the uninstall, please delete the following directories using Windows File Explorer:
C:\Users%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Enscape
C:\Users%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Enscape
C:\Users%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Temp\Enscape
C:\Program Files\Enscape
and the following file - %localappdata%\Chaos\UnifiedLogin\ula.db
C:\Program Files\Chaos\VRLService
C:\Program Files\Chaos\UnifiedLogin
Afterwards, restart your computer. Then, install the newest version from here: https://download.chaos.com/?platform=78&product=73
Kind regards,
Joke
