Missing Material Library

Hi everyone,

I seem to be missing my Enscape Material Library. I’m using the new Sketchup Mac plug in.

There is no ‘Material Library’ icon in the tools menu & I also don’t have the option to ‘replace with Enscape material’ when I’m in the materials editor.

I also only have access to two type of artificial lighting.

I’ve attached a couple of screen shots. Any help on this would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks,

Sarah

Welcome to our Forum @Sarah_Amos . Enscape for Mac is still WIP and these features you are looking for will be added with future releases. At the moment we kindly ask you to stay tuned for updates in the near future.

Hi @Demian_Gutberlet thanks for your reply!!

Ok no worries at all thanks for letting me know. I’ll definitely stay tuned for future releases. Enscape for Mac has been by far the best plug in to render in SketchUp! Loving it so far.

Sarah

Hi @Demian_Gutberlet ,

Do you have an idea of when this will be added?

Marian

I’m afraid I cannot say yet. Feel free to stay up to date though by signing up for our newsletter (almost at the bottom of this page) if you like.

Hi @Demian_Gutberlet another bug I’m hoping you can help me with!

I’ve just done the software update for SketchUp on Mac & now I’m getting an ‘Invalid Licence’ error. I’ve tried to re-enter my licence code in the manage licence section however that’s also giving me issues now.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,

Sarah

@Demian_Gutberlet also can you advise if the video function will become available in the SketchUp Mac plug in?

Hi Sarah - Glad to hear you already updated Enscape. I’ve just reset your license, at this point it should not become deactivated again when switching networks. Also, while the video editor is planned to be implemented into Mac for Enscape too, I cannot give you an exact release date yet. Still, feel free to sign up for our Mac newsletter at the bottom of this page here to stay up to date on current news!

hi @Demian_Gutberlet after instaling latest version im having the same issue in revit windows missing material library icon. appreciate your help.

In that case, which version of Revit are you using? And, is the Material Library icon missing, and/or also the Material Editor button?

now i realized its working only in version 2019 and up.. I’m currently using Revit 2018…

I’m afraid so yes. We would’ve liked to provide this functionality in Revit 2018 as well but it’s technically not possible I’m afraid.

Hi

I use Enscape (not a trial) for Mac / Sketchup 2022 but there is no material library button.

How to fixe it?

As it is a paid version, it will be cool to have all the basic features?

best regards

We are doing our best to implement these functionalities as well in the near future. At the moment, the Enscape Material Library is not yet available but should be soon - You can also stay up to date via our Mac newsletter (bottom of this page here.)

Thanks for your answer but how can you sell a license with one of the major part of the software missing!!!

It’s the same price on Mac and PC but with just a part of it.

if I remember the material library was working in the Beta test…

Enscape is fast, beautiful, easy to use and inexpensive. The lack of a material library doesn’t limit your use of Enscape. Even with the material library, I prefer to use materials from other locations starting with Google image searches (using keywords “seamless texture”), SketchUp Texture Club, etc. You will find the (eventual) Enscape material library doesn’t always have the exact material that you need.

I couldn’t agree more @jpcordina Mac users are getting the short end of the stick paying full price for a lesser product. There’s also no video features! @Demian_Gutberlet why are Mac users paying full price for this incomplete software?

Ok but if there was only the material library missing, it would have been quite OK but some other function as sort of light etc.. are missing

the fact that it is easy to use didn’t justify that part of he functionalities are missing compare to PC

Do you have a schedule to know when those functionality will be integrated.

I have buy for now few licences to test before deploy for all the creative people of the compagny…

I also agree, as a student learning the program I think it’s completely unfair to have access to only part of the program based on the computer I have. I would like to soon use this program in my work, but I am a committed Mac user and find it annoying to not offer both interfaces to function the same OR make us pay for the missing pieces.

Missing lighting functions, video functions, etc have impacted my grades and I feel like I am only learning a portion of what I could be!

Please work on a more inclusive update for all users, Mac and PC.

Just posting here to let the devs know I cancelled my subscription due to the fact that the pc version gets all the features and mac user just get a diluted version, while paying the same price tag, I feel completely cheated, the fact that there’s no clear roadmap is also diheartening. @Demian_Gutberlet
