I seem to be missing my Enscape Material Library. I’m using the new Sketchup Mac plug in.
There is no ‘Material Library’ icon in the tools menu & I also don’t have the option to ‘replace with Enscape material’ when I’m in the materials editor.
I also only have access to two type of artificial lighting.
I’ve attached a couple of screen shots. Any help on this would be GREATLY appreciated!
Welcome to our Forum @Sarah_Amos . Enscape for Mac is still WIP and these features you are looking for will be added with future releases. At the moment we kindly ask you to stay tuned for updates in the near future.
Ok no worries at all thanks for letting me know. I’ll definitely stay tuned for future releases. Enscape for Mac has been by far the best plug in to render in SketchUp! Loving it so far.
I’ve just done the software update for SketchUp on Mac & now I’m getting an ‘Invalid Licence’ error. I’ve tried to re-enter my licence code in the manage licence section however that’s also giving me issues now.
Hi Sarah - Glad to hear you already updated Enscape. I’ve just reset your license, at this point it should not become deactivated again when switching networks. Also, while the video editor is planned to be implemented into Mac for Enscape too, I cannot give you an exact release date yet. Still, feel free to sign up for our Mac newsletter at the bottom of this page here to stay up to date on current news!
We are doing our best to implement these functionalities as well in the near future. At the moment, the Enscape Material Library is not yet available but should be soon - You can also stay up to date via our Mac newsletter (bottom of this page here.)
Enscape is fast, beautiful, easy to use and inexpensive. The lack of a material library doesn’t limit your use of Enscape. Even with the material library, I prefer to use materials from other locations starting with Google image searches (using keywords “seamless texture”), SketchUp Texture Club, etc. You will find the (eventual) Enscape material library doesn’t always have the exact material that you need.
I couldn’t agree more @jpcordina Mac users are getting the short end of the stick paying full price for a lesser product. There’s also no video features! @Demian_Gutberlet why are Mac users paying full price for this incomplete software?
I also agree, as a student learning the program I think it’s completely unfair to have access to only part of the program based on the computer I have. I would like to soon use this program in my work, but I am a committed Mac user and find it annoying to not offer both interfaces to function the same OR make us pay for the missing pieces.
Missing lighting functions, video functions, etc have impacted my grades and I feel like I am only learning a portion of what I could be!
Please work on a more inclusive update for all users, Mac and PC.
Just posting here to let the devs know I cancelled my subscription due to the fact that the pc version gets all the features and mac user just get a diluted version, while paying the same price tag, I feel completely cheated, the fact that there’s no clear roadmap is also diheartening. @Demian_Gutberlet
