Mixed Reality Portal + HP Reverb G2 - lost Support after 24H2- Workarounds/Alternatives/Recommendations?

Hi Enscape Forum,

we were running Enscape on the HP Reverb G2. Since Windows cancelled its mixed reality Portal we cant use Enscapes VR Feature anymore.
Any Workarounds for the HP Reverb G2 after Windows Update 24H2? Do we really need to switch to another Headset?

If we really have to switch to another Headset it would be useful to get the latest recommendations? Anyone?

Hi

We have the same Problem with our HP Reverg G2, when opening Enscape it just says “Searching for Head mounted display”

Would be nice to get a Workaround, since we bought the G2 only for use in Enscape.

Edit: This for me fixed the Problem: https://forum.enscape3d.com/index.php?thread%2F28576-getting-a-mixed-reality-portal-vr-headset-to-work-when-upgrading-from-enscape-3%2F=&utm_source=chatgpt.com

Hi @donker and welcome to our Forum.

I’m afraid to tell you that due to performance considerations Enscape only officially supports Virtual Reality Headsets (HMD’s) listed here. This means we will unfortunately not be able to support the HP Reverb G2 and can only reccomend trying the Meta Quest 3 / HTC Vive Pro 2 if possible.

While a previous release (which can be acquired here) may work with that particular headset, it is not recommended by us given that you’ll miss out on current functionalities and there is again no official support we can offer when something VR related doesn’t function as it should.

I wish I had more positive news, but please also let me know if any additional questions come up regarding this topic or otherwise.

Dear all,

Good news for those using Virtual Reality headsets that relied on the discontinued Windows Mixed Reality Portal.

Since last weekend, a free software called “Oasis Driver for Windows Mixed Reality” has been available on Steam. With this driver, we were able to get our HP Reverb G2 working again with Enscape3D!
