Hey,
I made a seperate post instead of adding to the other one. The moral and ethical values of a wet t-shirt is quite funny but it had its time and should be left alone.
Here’s the new one, with absolutely not one wet shirt in the place. I only added text and a little sharp filter in ps.
I think its too dark.
Anyway,
hmmm… not bad. theres something strange going on with your glass bottle. you might show your mat settings. The foam isn’t too bad, but it doesn’t meet your beer in the glass.
Well, i played with ior till the cows came home!! I got a boatload of glass mats now in my library. lol
But the bg is actually meaningful and wanted to use it. The wall is quite blurry but colorful and if I changed the ior to anything than what it is now i get very dark or very light.
the beer and the glass are way better than the last one try some SSS on the foam and that will kick a**. yea about the bottle, it could be that its to translucent even when empty the brown bottles here are quite dark when looking throuhg them, I would try either a clear, green or blue bottle as those are probably easier to achieve and look cooler than the old brown bottles.
Yes, Im using fresnel.
I tried sss but i havent got it down tight yet, will keep trying tho.
About the translucency, yes, it might very well be.
When i checkerboard my scenes to check lighting and in this case, reflection and refraction, i can see the depth of each.
The background is checkered but the enviroment out of camera view is the same bg. The bottle, looks more reflective in the actual scene but its really too transparent maybe. I could change the enviroment to reflect a different scene but then the bottle looks flat and has no real depth since transparency is needed. Its a real catch 22 or something I havent figured out yet.
But, look at the bottle neck.
See how at the bottom of the neck there is this straight line where the reflection and refraction gets stretched out. The curve at the neck end is a dense mesh and has tight refl and refr but the neck has elongated characteristics. Even if I refine the neck and add more segments, it does nothing to change it. If I could get a smooth reflection and translucency out of it and then elongated along the neck would be great. But I cant seem to figure it out.
I originally had falloff in the fresnel mode, something that I always did when using the free version and vraymap. It didnt do much with this.
Anyway, i did a remake with a different enviroment to see the effects on the glass. Now, before u go rolling your eyes and shaking your head, this is no worse than those gorgeous Marca Bavaria commercials. I’ve been raised by tv and so a beer and a fine woman is the all american dream. LOL. Please dont get offended. I wanted it to look like an ad or something to give it more meaning than a glass excersise.
I used 2 particle systems and sss, however the sss looked great until i put the glass infront of the liquid then it got all lost in the reflection.Oh well, next time.
I tried very hard not to go with sex.Well, we all know how impossible that is!
It was missing something and then I found her and to me and maybe no one else, she fits. lol
Ya, there I go again.
Thanks Syclone.
Ive been Maxing for about a year and have hundreds of scenes, however I have never spent so much time on a scene then this one.
First because I just bought Vray and had to learn the new features and then I got the beta and the learning curve twisted some more.
The scene is all built with vrymtl and no standards just to see the difference. I also built the scene with standard mtl. Vray’s much better.
The wet tshirt scene…has dried up and all thats left is pretty girls looking ugly with hangovers.
