Motion Blur on first frame different. Speed beween SP1 and SP2

Hello, using Vray 1.5 Service pack 1 at work (its whats on the farm).

I am noticing that the motion blur seems to be different on frame 1 or 0 whichever the first frame is.

Is there a setting that I should look at to fix this?

Also, is there a render speed increase between SP1 and SP2? I may want to advise the farm guys to install SP2 and need ammo like speed, fixes, etc to win em over.

This is most likely because you don’t have any keys set before that first frame. 3dsmax needs to see a before and after for motion blur to work (I believe).

Our solution is to always set a few keys at frame -5 or so so that the animation curves have info for motion blur to work properly.

Probably too late but in the ‘Controller’ menu in track view there are options for ‘Out of range types’. You could try changing it from constant to linear…

Speaking of which, do you know how to set it to do that by default?

Sorry no, I don’t think you can set it to default to linear.
