Just a thought, few times now we came accross this: when working with live action footage often producers will request us to match motion blur in 3d to the motion blur in the provided footage. And they give specifications like we had shutter of 230deg for 3.2 seconds…Im wondering if its possible to indergrade option under motion blur paramiters where when enabled you could specify provided shutter information and then it will be converted into blur lengh, interval center and so on automaticly?
just a thought

This could be useful, the conversion from shutter angle to duration is very simple so it wouldn’t be a lot of work to implement I think.
Until then, here’s a calculator that does the same:

And here’s one for matching still camera blur:

haha sweet.
nice, would be sweet addition, mental ray has also shutter but its pritty much same as duration (frames) which makes it well useless haha…
good call on the formulas tho ![]()
How difficlt is it to convert shutter angle to frame duration?
0.25 =90
0.5 = 180
0.75 =270
1 =360
right?
yes, it is really easy ![]()
