This is a quick question please excuse me if it’s been asked before. I normally work with the max camera - I just find it easier to light and I’m more familiar with it (old habits die hard) when it comes to Motion Blur does the Vray camera give better results - when hardly ever have render horsepower for Motion Blur but we are starting to use it and I never thought I could be screwing things up by using the max camera.

vraycam is more correct and less to worry about it seems. Max cam is fake motionblur
Personally, I agree.
I think it’s much easier using the motionblur on the physical camera - just expose, and tick the box!
If you want more or less blur, just adjust the exposure setup on the camera…!
im sure he was referring to vray moblur not max’s. And i actually prefer moblur with max camera. but i still use vray cameras for everything. sure you can check the moblur box, but then you have to spend time adjusting your exposure until it looks right. with max cam, just click moblur and your basically done.
I’m a max camera motion blur man. Just one simple checkbox, set the frame duration and you’re sorted.
It’s the same motion blur as the one in the vray cam in that rollout, just different controls.
There is no quality or speed difference when using motion blur from the physical camera and a standard one. As cubiclegangster pointed out, it’s the same motion blur, just different controls.

I’m constantly surprised by how much I still have to learn in the 3D world, I’ve been working with Vray for probably 5 years, maybe more - 3D is my fulltime job day, and I am still nearly new shizzle :]
