Mr.Max Sketchbook (Updated)

Hi everyone
I thought I would start new topic for my random sketches and hopefully this time I will be more active. the target is to get one project per week if possible so finger crossed

N001_ You are not alone
This one is based on an image I’ve seen on Instagram by Erick Ramirez @r4s .

I like the “Sketchbook” idea, it is encouraging  Nice render, reflection on the asphalt draws nicely viewer’s attention. Looking forward to see more! Good luck!

p.s your lucky 777th post

hehehe I didn’t notice that triple 7 ! this topic seems promising then

And Thanks! I’m glad you like it
doing side personal projects even if it is just one night sketch is always fun and refreshing .I will try to keep it going : ))
btw I did post a break down for this one here if anyone is interested

Nice as always.

N002_ Animated Tree
I thought one project per week would be possible but it seems it is going to be one project per month : ))

Anyway here is a fun little animation I did few nights back based on Roger Kilimanjaro work.
the lighting and materials are pretty basic in this one as my focus was on the animation itself .
I’ve used tyFlow for the wood debris/Sawdust , the spread of the green part of the tree, and the bulbs with the rope that connect them .
the transformation at the start was done using Shape Boolean with Lathe .
rendered using Vray Next GPU / CPU .

I hope you like it

Tell me about it  I constantly have a problem to let go some project as there is always so much space for improvements and lack of time and energy often being main issue. Though, I believe consistency is the most important thing of all, those small steps we take every day

Geat animation, color palette, pacing, lighting - all works well together! Well done

Thanks Karol!
Yes, being a perfectionist myself I find it hard to call a project done ..to overcome this, I do these one night projects that whatever I can get I move on with .

Very cool

Thank you !
003-Random tech
This month project is pretty simple, just a cube with Jsplacement Texture ,I’ve used the output map to take small range of the texture and use it for self-illumination slot .

and here is additional one with displacement

Brilliant Navras

Very disco-Borg, those bottom 2
Thanks for the llink.

Thanks !
it is really fun to play with this software .
it is like Greeble plugin but as a texture and more shapes /settings
speaking of Greeble, Tom mentioned that he is working on an update for it , hopefully we can do similar things with it then =D

Thank you Martin !
Glad you like it : ))

Sorry, I’ve missed your comment
Your tests made me jealous, so I started this one =D so thank you : ))

Cool (intended :p)

Looks nice.

Wow! As a fan of Blade Runner that’s my thing!! Love it. It seems like a great use case for Vay triplanar and multisubtex materials  As much as I love I think the scale is off, looks a bit like a miniature, especially the buldings on the front gave me this impression, though, maybe simply the lack of reference objects such as cars and billboards increases this effect. Great job nonetheless! !!!

Thanks man!
Yeah, I agree. The missing scale reference make it less readable too.
Usually we do those kitbashing to show the ideas then go and refine them later.
The idents are live now on tv, so hopefully we can share the final soon.

N 006 _ light n shadows
Okay, so it was a rough month, but I manged to do this one last night .
it is based on a cool project in Brooklyn / USA by Studio Esnal ,you can check it Here
I liked the the tree shadow on the facade and I liked its lines pattern. so I tried to recreate that .
I went with more fresh look and maybe a bit stylized with blue bright shadows but I think that’s because from inside I miss the sunlight and being out again .

Technically, the modeling is done using RailClone for the facade, the windows and the blind inside .
the trees are ready model from Evermotion AM 207 ( finally I could find a collection good for streets) placed manually to draw the shadows .
the light is just Vraysun and Vray sky .

Bravo, looks great!

All of this is really awesome work. mostly beyond my comprehension regarding how you did a lot of it to be honest - especially the texturing method on those cubes and the snow material…great stuff!

I’m just posting to say thanks for the evermotion tree tip - i’ll add that AM 207 library to my wish list!
