So I am having this weird crash that happens when I enable multi-pass for the first time in a scene I already previously rendered.
Pretty simple scenario, you render a scene → stop the render → enable multi-pass with a bunch of passes (don’t think it matters which ones) → hit render again → crash & burn.
At first I thought it was just one scene but now I realized its happening pretty much every single time I repeat the process.
What my workaround is is that I enable Multi-Pass → Save the scene. Render & Crash → Reopen the scene and then proceed to render again.
Not sure if this was reported before or is a known behavior in general.
Cheers!
edit: Ugh, forgot to list a few things.
Windows 8.1, Latest Daily (I think its the Version: B1 daily May 17 2017)
I just tried it with the same codebase that is currently out as the 2017-06-27 daily build and it doesn’t crash for me.
I opened an old scene, rendered it normally, pressed stop in VFB, enabled multipass, added a bunch of passes into it, pressed render in VFB and it renders without any trouble…
Maybe there’s some more specific circumstances under which it happens? I’ll try again with the binary of the daily, but it should be the same version that I was trying…
no crashes (win7x64pro, r18.041, corona-c4d-win-2017-06-27)
tho after a while, as corona is closed CPU resources (cinema4d.exe) are still being used (~90%) - need to force close or end process
No reports on this anymore and it seems like all the crashes are fixed in the beta 1. If this problem still presists, please open another bug report! Thanks.
