Can we use multiframe incremental mode for animation in maya? because to use animation prepass we need to cache the light in single system…which take lot of time… Or if we cache on multiple systems…do we get flickers in animation… Thanks, Ajay

Iam using IM for primary and LC for secondary. Each frame for caching is taking 40 mins. The animation is of 125 frames. If I go for animation prepass method, it will take almost 4 days just for prepass light caching. That is the reason I was wondering if I can go for multiframe incremental for a fi…

You can cache the irradiance files across a farm. You can also cache it at half res to save you some time.

It is rendering prepass in the sequence of every 5 th frame - 1,6,11,16,21,16

Funny you should say that as I was wondering the same thing about the order. It would make sense if it didn’t work I guess. So not sure how clever Vray is under the hood at solving that problem. Out of interest have you turned off render final image in the globals. That will help your times a li…

while doing prepass, Iam offing render final image
