I am working on a scene and I have the issue that the sun is making a ton of reflections onto my image, this is of course natural but for the product shoot I need the products to be visible and reduce the glare drastically. I should also add that I’m a super beginner.
Use tone mapping operators in the Post tab of the Corona VFB to tone down the blown-out highlights (for example Reinhard Highlight Compression)
Use different environment lighting - e.g. use a different HDRI or lower the Corona Sun’s intensity
Combine Slicer material with Rayswitch material - this way the environment lighting won’t enter the room. You will end up with the cutout visible directly, but the lighting as if the wall was still there.
They are giving you good advice. Mostly just overexposed and could be because of a missing Camera Tag or maybe you changed the Sun intensity or the light bulb too high. If you are familiar with photography, like myself, I’d disable Simple Exposure and add the Photographic Camera Tone Mapping parameter. The real camera settings of ISO and f-stop translate well to Corona.
One other thing you may need to fake, keeping in mind that Corona wants to render real-world style. Since you’re doing a cutaway effect, I would think the lighting inside the bathroom should look like the walls are still there, no? You could be cubes where the walls should be, add a Corona Compositing Tag and UNcheck Seen By Camera. This way, it should still cast a shadow, but be totally invisible so your lighting inside look like, well, inside lighting. Hope this makes sense.
