Hi,
This is the way i fastly postpro my renders when I do not use Render Elements :
In Corona :
in the Corona FrameBuffer / ColorMap, choose the correct Exposure (EV)
set the Highlight compress to 1 - the image should look a bit burnt but you’ll be able to fix this in Photoshop …
Save your render in .exr 32bit-full float
In Photoshop :
I use a plugin to correct the burnt areas (tonemapping) - ArionFX Tonemapping from RandomControl. With this one, you’ll be able to add bloom, glare and so to your image, making it more attractive …
This done, your image should look like in the Corona Frame Buffer (when you use higher Highlight compress values), but keeps more lighting datas (like a RAW image!)…
Then use Camera Raw filter. You’ll access to a lot of parameters (Contrast, Exposure, Blacks, Whites, Midtones …) just play with them!
You can adjust the final look with Curves, Photo filters …
It’s a very fast way (15-30min) to improve the look of your images.
An example :
Straight out the Corona Frame Buffer :
Why to Use RandomControl if possible to change Highlights/Contrast/Tone directly in Corona VFB???so at least you can see what you render correctly///
And others effects: Glares,Bloom and etc. stuff with Camera Raw, Knoll,Alien Skin Exposure and many, many others in PS////
And one more interesting question…As you remove the artifacts on Alphas edges in 32 EXR images??? with PS Matting this not work perfectly???
Of course, as by default, I don’t keep updated DOF or glares, which are both heavy for rendering time. Also, I keep update time to something reasonable, like 5000ms.
You don’t need it, and no one in this thread mentioned you need it, thus I almost perceive your message as trolling attempt in disguise.
But why do I or the poster above use it ? Because all the tools that you don’t have in Corona buffer but also don’t need to wait for PS.
Just because it doesn’t update “real-time” DOF in instant at high-res doesn’t mean it’s useless. Frischluft is not real-time either.
Basic stuff like Highlight compression, exposure, and contrast give me zero delay in real-time regardless of resolution.
But additionally LUT support, further correction tools (much better white balance), filmic tone-mapping, histogram, comparative history buffer, etc… yeah, the same as Corona buffer I would say.
You Don"t use PS after all games with VBF+???!!
You save the image directly from VFB+ to the final version of render???!!!
I can’t believe!!
And if you use, all these stuff with more convenient faster and more flexible settings
and masks,to do in PS, it is clear to everyone////
PS- And what will you do, if some
stupid customer, suddenly asked to remove a nice glare on light bulbs?
Calm down guys. Don’t throw false accusations at each other. The only on that was banned from this topic, was OP and i believe that denisgo22 has nothing to do with him.
Lamps have same intensity as candles? First you need to balance lighting.
Here’s a quickie (1 click to raw version) - with custom preset on ‘Real Camera’ software (still my favorite post pro tool):
Thanks to Romulus, for an end point to this debate,
And i am sorry for my pressure…
I have a question to the continuation of this theme.
Maybe somebody knows a good way
remove artifacts from Alphas edges on 32bit exr images???
Matting in PS, AE, Nuke don’t give a perfectly results…
