need help with refraction

at the picture above, i need to make the white part as glass with interpolated glossy refraction /glossy refraction, and the black part is clear glass.
anybody know how to do it? i tried with mask but it didn’t work.

victor

if the link doesnt work, paste it into ur browser

Works fine here, put the mask in the “glossiness” slot of the refraction maps. Make sure you change the refraction color to near white.

Use your image in the refract glossy slot of the VRayMat. You might find that you don’t want pure white and black.

whoops, you must have posted when I was making a test image. :o

Pure white and black for the logo map that is

thx guys! here’s the result, but still needs little tweaks.

Cool , Looking good

If you haven’t, try checking “affect shadow” should let some more light onto the shelves.

i did it. is it lack of light? i use caustics too

Looks like the map you used may have some jpg comp errors. I guess ot could be the caustics though :?: not sure

So how about the green edges found in glass?

I’ve been playing around with this idea after seeing this post.

Anyone know how to make the green edges one finds on a
sheet of glass? (say on the edge of my desk)

Escher

change the fog color to a little greeny, not too much, usually un-noticeable
