I’m working on the same file with multiple users and we are using custom materials that are mapped to a Sharepoint folder through Sharepoint desktop links. We have issues of having to manually re-map some of the materials when another user has mapped the material on their end. As you can see below, some materials are automatically mapped while others are white until the texture is re-mapped manually.
The Sharerpoint local link (C:\Users\username\sharepointfolder...) is added to the Rendering Options in Revit. We have Revit materials created, then the material is duplicated as a Generic Asset.
Is there a way to automatically update the material mapping in Enscape to match how it is mapped in Revit (even using external tools such as pyrRevit or Dynamo)?
Is this a Sharepoint issue, and in that case is there an alternative way to connect to the Sharepoint folder per user?
We have too many textures to re-map them manually.
I have seen many posts with similar issues but did not find something that applies to this specific problem.
Thanks
Hey @AMilczarek - welcome to the forum!
I’m sorry to hear about the trouble you’re running into. If Revit does read those files and Enscape doesn’t, we certainly want to take a look at the log files for this case. Can you please send us a support ticket? You can find a description how to do that here: https://learn.enscape3d.com/blog/knowledgebase/using-the-feedback-button-win-revit/
Okay thanks, I just sent one with logs.
Just echoing the response from Hayley here so everyone with similar issues can take care of it:
"his is a common issue, and the solution involves moving the shared location to a location that’s the same for each user. The issue is that each user is accessing their own Sharepoint folder under their username. When person A sets a texture from “C:\Users\Person A\Sharepoint\Enscape Textures”, it doesn’t match when person B accesses the project with "C:\Users\Person B". Instead, you need to use a folder that’s the same for everyone, such as “C:\Shared Folder\Enscape Textures”.
You’d then do the same for additional appearance paths and the Enscape Material editor.

Are you able to store materials on Sharepoint, sync’d locally to each computer? Similar to Dropbox where you would have a cloud based central folder syncing to local folders on each user computer. This local folder is where you’d want to map the additional render path.
