Network/License setup questions

Hello all, I’m new around, but still have some question, i got 4 pc-s, one server and 3 workstations, sever is 8 core, workstations are 4 cores, and have one license.

1. Are I’m gonna need more license in order to use them all?
2. Im I got this right: in order to use DR, I need to set a succesfuly backburner render with scanline for example and only then I can use Vray DR?

1. If you want to use all your PCs to render, but only use one workstation to model you won’t need another license. You can render with 10 PCs on one license.
You just have to select Renderslave when installing VRay and you don’t have to authorize Max when you install it in order to render.
2. It worked for me right away (with 1.50.17) so I’m not sure about this.

Thx a lot, but u use 1.50.17 i have 1.5 SP1, is there a way to download the 1.50.17 and use it, in support there is only 1.5 SP1?
I start a project with demo of 1.50.17 and now i have to redo anyting coz there is no settings left from demo version, even when I save presets.

What’s the problem? Any recent version of Vray will do what you are describing in terms of licensing.

And what’s wrong with 1.5 SP1? It is version 1.50.11, and DR via BB works fine with it.

Like Clifton said: any version will act the same way. I believe the BB trick, that you had to render something through BB first, only applied to the versions before the SP1.

So it should all work.

WOW :hushed: I didnt know that , thats is a great .:stuck_out_tongue:
