new asus mobos x79.. which one would you choose?

Which one you think is the best fit for nice new workstation?

SABER seems the most reliable , but it seems that for workstation purposes P9X79 WS was made.

EVGA.

Dont go asus.

for workstation go with xeon/super micro. If you want stable that is.

EVGA?! I was always using ASUS board and though they are the best… plus I don’t see more than 4 ram slots on EVGA

Dmitry… yeah this is a bit too much for my pocket

well my old workstations were usually asus or evga, but in my main workstation i had changed the motherboard twice, power supply 3 times, hdd 3 times, video card 2 times, thats over 4 years I had it.
I got my xeon last year and so far its been great. It costs a lot, 5 times more then what you would pay for a workstaion otherwise assembled from your regular hardware…but I think in a long run I had spent more money maintaining mine then it was worth.
My original 4 core extreme 6700qx workstaion was over $4k. After all the repairs etc it probably came out to 5k, which is what the price of a xeon is  minus the headaches.
Granted things are faster/cheaper these days but are they really? I just built 3 2600k chip machines, great speed and power, but after only 3 month one of them failed. It was working fine and suddenly a blue screen saying - machine_check_failed, and that was that…

anyone else got any input regarding new ASUS mobos?

Dunno…I got a standard gaming pc, I think ASUS or Gigabyte board, the stuff with naked manga girl and dragon on the box
Core i7 with 16gb ram and some geforce card.
I think there is also a girl with rifle on my gfx card…if not on RAM too…
Anyway, it’s a rock solid box, it’s the most stable machine I ever had. I clocked it to 3.4ghz and it never crashes, never.
I think most stability problems come down to RAM. I torture test with memtest86 etc to make sure a box is stable, otherwise the RAM goes back. I also tend to buy expensive PSU.

GIGABYTE are quality (I have x2 EX58 boards - they are great!)

Yeah I recently had problems with ram , 3 sticks of CRUCIAL ram died on me. I was also sure CRUCIAL is the best but it seems its days has passed. CORSAIR nowadays is good?
