When will we get this in V-Ray? Turns low resolution into high resolution.
Ask when you will get this in Photoshop. V-Ray is the wrong place for this. Very wrong.
I don’t know. Is the Denoiser wrong in V-Ray? I am not asking for it, I just think it would be awesome to speed up renderings algorithmically for resolution, like the denoiser.
I’d be somewhat wary of these algorithms; they do look great on paper, but in practice not everything is roses. We’ve experimented a bit with deep learning for denoising and while there are cases where it works good, there are also other cases where it doesn’t… But we are keeping an eye on things like these.

Is this actually denoising? I think it is kind of generating a high res image coming from low res. That’s why I thought it fits better to Photoshop then V-Ray.
No, it’s upscaling. But the principle is the same basically.

I would love to use it but, only to up-res clients’ low-res jpeg compressed photo references… O_O EXCITEMENT!
I was thinking of my Perfect Resize 9 program, which upsizes really well. I can take a 4k render and blow it up 10X with no noticeable change. You can’t add what isn’t there, so the image has to be a pretty high resolution to start with.
dam this would be a good idea, perfect resize is a great tool as well

I just tried this today. You can only upload a 5mp or less image and I wasn’t impressed by the results thb…
Arf it certainlyl depends on the nature of the image I’ve done a few tests here, and it was much better than PS resizing.
Here are two images. The small one is grabbed from my website and the second one is blown up 4X using Perfect Resize 9.
Try the same image in PhotoZoom and post the results, if you have time.
