Its awkward. There is are no discussions. Usually just unanswered questions. If you call out someone who works for chaos they usually (I’m sure reluctantly) write back.
You’re not wrong — activity and discussion quality are currently below where they should be.
Right now the forum is skewed toward support questions, with limited organic discussion or showcase content. That’s not the intended outcome, and we’re treating it as a gap to fix rather than “just how it is.”
The main issues we’re seeing:
• Weak content loops (people ask, fewer people answer)
• Low visibility of interesting work/projects
• Navigation friction reducing casual browsing
We’re working on rebalancing this toward a real community again — not just a support board.
In the meantime, posts like this are actually helpful signals. If something feels off, it usually is.
This forum is hard to navigate, if i go to ‘Topics’ to see the latest content all I get is a sea of irelevant (to me) posts and if there is an Enscape relevant one it’s hard to find.
If I click on the ‘Enscape’ tag WE’RE (you included) reliant on a user having tagged a post correctly …. Which leads me onto the next point.
This is the dialog I see on my iPad to pick a category …. which you have to do to post! Which one would you pick?.
I get that Enscape is now part of the Chaos ‘family’ but a very big part of using Enscape was (past tense) the community and it’s gone. I liked seeing what others were doing with ‘my’ software and I liked showing what I was doing with ‘their’ software.
Right now, it feels more like a quest than a forum. Finding interesting Enscape discussions or inspiring visualizations has become genuinely difficult.
People used to come here not only for technical support, but also to share their work, exchange ideas, get inspired, and help each other. That’s what made the Enscape community special, and much of that is missing today.
I really hope the forum can become that kind of place again, because an active community is just as important as technical support.
