Well, soon to be released the new version of v-ray will come with IES files or pre-configured or have players IES files.
While she does not come out I decided to share with you my files IES … yes, IES files … took almost a 9 months studying how to optimize the files created by IES Andeciuala and later by Oleg Balev because I was trying different effects and also because I did not manage well those effects up and down the Omni light … behold 9 months later was the most simple to have IES files in v-ray for Sketchup …
While the new version does not come out, enjoy, I made some 30 HEIs and to do MUCH more:)

i mean, i map the image on the face, and then… ??
i tried applyin the map to the transparency too, but i still can not use them… could anybody please just give me a short explanation?

The process is the same as the opacity map, you will apply an opacity map which indicated the sketchup file through the diffuse, then the m of transparency in bitmap type you choose, choose one of the maps and press OK, put the transparency 100%, totally white.
ok… perhaps i need some ies light for dummies hehe…
here’s what i did… i opened the file, created a simple room, set the lamp in the ceiling, applied map # 28 to the black face with the arrow pointing to the wall, created vray linked material (i still use the old version), and then, still in diffuse, added the same 28 map to transparency and rendered…
also: i checked the vray omni light, and it does work (inside the lamp)…
the problem here is that i don’t get any light, and by any reason, the mapping does not match the way i mapped it in skethup…
what am i doing wrong?..
you have to revers faces in the place where you put your bitmap with IES light,
i had this problem a long time ago, it worked for me
not sure but probably, after youll scale it on a white side copy that on the other side as well.
The latest version of V-Ray for SketchUp has been released. Upgrading on the same Operating System is free to existing users. The latest version supports actual IES lights and a few other extra bells and whistles.
im like dont know anything about this IES light or how to use them can anyone explain as if for total idiot?
