These settings are the best for ALL cases of any animation of Characters. For 512x288 to 640 x 480
1.Dont start the animation from 0 frame!!!
Start the animation from 10 frame better
2. Antialithing - Adaptive -1,2 Multypass -Yes Rand - No
3. Dont put any filters to Antialithing
4. Irr map. There should not be more difference between MIN MAX than 1
I have -2, -1 but -1, -1 is better
Other three parameters of IRR equal 0,4 0,4 0,4 or better 0,3 0,3 0,4 (0,1)
HSph - 50
Interp - 40
Secondary: Subdivs - 3, Depth - 5
Interpolation of Irr - Least squares fit
Sample lookup - Nearest
samples 15
Use current…- Yes
Randomize… - NO !
Check… - NO
Multyframe Incremental mode
QCM
Amount = 1
Amount(2) = 0,9
NOISE = 0,008
If you want better NOISE = 0,007 but the time increase 15%
Min Samples = 15
Colour Mapping - Exponential or what you want
System
Raycaster Params:
60 0,0 0,5!!!
Render region devision - Region Count
X = 1 Y = 1 //ONLY SO
Lighting settings - choose 40 subdivs for each Vray light and 40 for others
Scene 200 000 poligons take 5 minutes for the FIRST frame and 1,3 - 2
minutes for the SECOND and Tne next frames
You are right about direct lighting. It alwaes help. But if your character is inside interior these settings halps too to avoid bugs on the walls and the characters. Try to observe ALL these settings(EACH POINT)!!! Only IF you OBSERVE EACH SETTING you will get Best Result/Time
And I must say more - The settings remove that black line
I tested this in 98 scenes. It works good. I can give you an animation of characters with it. Everythings is OK now.
If you have any questions ask me. I think even Vlado does not know the way to set up character animation solution. But this works
ok, i tried it.
rendertime is above 3 hours per frame.
the bucket looks like its only 1 pixel in size and it takes VERY long to go through the frame.
i rechecked every setting twice.
there is a man sitting on a seat in a plane in my scene,
nothing special.
no secondary bounces on.
I think he meant to only have one bucket per frame not 5 million I tested this recently(just the render region part) it shaved 40 secs off a ten minute render compared to 128 x 128 render region. It saves on the time used to make each region fit together.
Alkonst, try the following test with your settings:
Create a plane. Create a sphere. Animate the sphere moving across the plane from left to right. As predicted, the sphere will leave a black GI shadow trail across the plane.
I’ve followed your steps EXACTLY (with the exception of the 1x1 bucket size) so unless I’m missing something, this method will not work.
ok, i missed one setting : Region Count
now i have one gigantic bucket that looks impressive but the render time is still insane.
alkonst, have you rechecked the settings that you posted here?
can you probably upload a simple demonstration scene?
if this works i will put a picture of you above my bed next to peter and vlado.
I can make settings for any scene, of course the settings must have some difference depend on the tipe of the scene. I tested several animation scenes and the settings were a bit different. If you want I can make the settings for your scene. But you will have to post the scene.
I simply can remove any black line that follow the objects. I have seen that problem, but everything is ok now
hi alkonst,
i am very interested in getting this to work but i was unable to reproduce your solution.
can you make a simple scene, like an box with normals flipped,
a light and a moving box inside as a character substitute?
maybe out an animated bend to the character box so that it has some vertex movement.
if you could email that scene to me i can compare what i did wrong in my scene.
