I am having issues with normals and bumps not showing properly. All of the brick is done the same way, and only the angle pieces break. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
are the face normals on that piece of geo possibly inverted?
Nope. I checked everything. Something to do with the sun. All the bricks are built the same way, and it is only the brick on the angle piece. I could drop the same material on another face, and it would render fine.
How does it supposed to look?
Have you tried checking its behaivior with bumpnormals render element? Swaping green/red color has the same effect?
The mortar is supposed to go in, not out. Yes, I tried everything you suggested.
mmmmm I dont see it going out, have you tried using different light angle? this one doesnt help at all, it looks very flat, maybe increse the normal strenght could help.
have you tried with displacement? I think it will help a lot in this case.
Well it’s clearly going out. Can you upload part of that scene with the normal map. I’ve had issues with some geometry rendering also weirdly, normals were good, etc. After a reset Xform it was ok, even though I didn’t scale, or flip or whatever, just a normal box that was rotated.
I will post post - I tried xform
Is it a regular normal texture or BerconTile generated?
Regular and normal. We have several guys here that have been trying to fix it for about 10 months.
probably best to drop a scene to Chaos, if the obvious things aren’t the problem, they might be able to find it.
How do you rotate the tiles? I think using the map rotation in the bitmap loader might produce issues. If you use those; try resetting them and rotate the uv’s instead.
I’m curious to take a look
I’ll try to most tomorrow.
