Ocean surface extention shadows problem

DEAR ALL

I am very new to the forum  and using PhoenixFd3/vray3.5/Max2017 (running the last updates)

I am trying to make a scene while boat sailing and i am experiencing few issues with the Ocean surface

i use the ocean surface with phenix simulation and also make another seamless floor for the ocean Floor ( to be able to see the Ocean Floor more like Caribbean waters)

BUT in The render i can see the shadows created by the edges of the ocean on the sea floor

and when i use a seamless plane as an ocean i don’t have this issue anymore but the render times is much higher ( almost 20 times more) and also i can’t have splashes and foam

RENDER TIMES

43 SEC
the ocean created by OCEAN MESH with simulation ( Very FAST BUT PROBLEM IS THE SHADOWS ON THE FLOOR )

19 MIN
Ocean by simple seamless PLANE and displacement ( No shadows and the problem is VERY SLOW rendering )

Is there any way to use the same method of OCEAN Simulation and avoid the shadows on the floor ?
Is it possible to Make a Bigger limits out side the camera view ?

Can you tell me how can i Solve this issue ?

thanks in advance for your support

Mahdi

Hello,

In the nightly builds we have implemented an option for this. It’s called Off-Screen Margin (%) and it allows you to extend the ocean further from the borders of the camera view in order to solve such issues. The value is a percentage of the image size. You can find it in the Ocean Render settings.

In order to get access to the nightly builds - send an email to support@chaosgroup.com with a link to this thread and they will help you out.

Nice addition Georgi!

Thank you Georgi

I found the option Perfectly solved

Render time is fast and no shadows
