V.nice, but you seem to have a problem with the floating chairs, are they touching the floor?
Also it would look cool if you were getting relections on the glass…
looks nice … love the amount of light..
nice to see you using Ies lights
Natty ![]()
You can try to check fresnel in your floor material and increase the amount of reflection.
Gonçalo
True the ies lights look excellent, I’ll have to try that one ![]()
Yes natty, thanks for your small tuts about ies ![]()
It helped me a lot…
good ![]()
It seems that you put a focus for the sun because the shadow on the railing opens…as the sun gives parallel rays you should put a direct lite.
By the way I see some problems with the image composition as a photo…Sure you can do better…
Regards
sorry capadocian
what do you mean “By the way I see some problems with the image composition as a photo…Sure you can do better…”
Perhaps it is a problem with my english…
I meant that the photo composition…point of view…it quite simple, in my opinion of course.
I think a good scene like that could be shown from a more interesting angle, and photo format.
Hope I have explained myself…

sorry …understand ![]()
I like the angle- what’s wrong with it and how can it be improved? I think a little more explanation is needed before making a statement like that. What would you do to improve the image?
I would add more detail in the undetailed areas or show less of the undetailed areas. Now there are regions with lots of objects and detail and regions with almost nothing in it at all. This gives a strange feel to the image. Maybe it’s not necessary to show the two parallel walls in one shot.
A background image could already do a lot.
The floating chairs probabely come from too low irradinace map settings.
Keep us informed about the updates!
sorry if my comments offend anybody…
I would do a more diagonal view…try with one form the sofa and one from the opposite place…I would do a square or nearly square aspect ratio…Like Flipside said maybe need more object in the scene or a point of view that seems more equilibrated…perhaps down the camera a little…for me the objects seem no tall enough…
Another possible view can be a frontal view…but it is hard to get a good one…

last version
Thanks for all for your help…![]()
This is the last version of this WIP…

I like alot of the changes you did to the image. But the IES lights are circular which doesn’t work with rectangular portholes. I’d download a new IES profile for this scene. The lights near the window are not working visually.
Very nice! ![]()
Something wrong with the floor material I think, the reflection is too strong…
Gonçalo
As far as I can see, sunlight is penetrating from outside, and the sky/environnment color is too dark compared to its intesity (if not already done, try unchecking “affect background” in the color mapping rollout).
I like the way the athmosphere (colour) coldness is balanced by the soft IES lighting.
Nice render, keep updating …

Nenad
Is the sun a Spot?
It looks like a spot because of the shadow…
The sun shadows look pretty directional to me, don’t think it’s a spot.
This update is so much better than the previous one!
