I get the feeling the examples in the online reference for the VRay2SidedMtl are still set for the old versions of VRay.
What is meant with Opacity: off for example? Is this the grey colour or the 0-100 box? And the same goes for the Translucency value.

Opacity there means simply opacity in the base V-Ray mtl material, not in the 2-sided material itself.

Ah, like that…
And the value in the reference (0.2 of 0.8 ) can be compared to 20 or 80 in the value spinner?

Like it says on the examples page, there is an Output map in the Opacity slot of the base VRayMtl; so the Opacity value refers to the Output amount parameter of the Output map.

Vlado,
Would it be possible to post the scene files used in making those examples? I seem to have a lot of trouble getting the 2sidedmtl to look as good as it does in those renders. It would be a huge help.
Noticed that diffuse is spelled as diffese
The VRayMtl (Front material) has a diffese Bitmap, and for the opacity - a procedural Output map.

Interesting… Any idea why the light source is visible in the reflection but not directly in this example?

But it is visible directly… at least I can see it in my monitor.
Best regards,
Vlado
I can see it as well, there’s just alot more contrast in the reflection due to the darker floor.

I will have to ask about the files.
Best regards,
Vlado
even screen caps would be very helpful…thx
Vlado, are you still going to ask? …because, the leaf material example is also of great interest…
Thx

Yep, I asked; Candelero made the original scene and he gave his permission, so I will try to put the scene online when I get to the office on Monday.
Best regards,
Vlado
Thanks Candelero!
Thanks Vlado!
