Anyone know of any good open source and free video editors? Something with similar capabilities to Premiere?

jashaka is i think the only video editor of note that i know of, and i haven’t really tried it.
as for dvd creation, all too many, check out doom9.org for some.
but for complex dvd stuff, you can’t really beat Dvd-Lab for something like ~$99. (Unless you’re into the whole obscure command line arguments scene that is OSS dvd
