Orientation issue when instancing vray lights in OBJ context

I am getting an odd behavior when attempting to instance lights onto points in OBJ context. I have tried adjusting all manner of parameters (N, up, orient). They appear correct in the viewport but when rendered they are oriented incorrectly, they do not repond to chages in rotation or normal direction. If I instance normal geometry it behaves correctly. In the screenshot you can see the difference between render and scene view. I have serached the forum, I saw some people having issues with attributes and that there was an update enabling instancing in Solaris.

Is this a known issue? Is there a fix? Or am I doing something wrong?

All help and advice is appreciated

Thanks

No.

There should be for sure.

Probably, no.

We’ll check this asap.

Hi **marc_cacciola,**
It would be great if you could provide us with a simple scene demonstrating the issue. Additionally, its worth trying to update to the latest version of V-Ray.

Ok, we left this like that because it was originally implemented this way and we keep this behavior to not break existing scenes.

You could add V-Ray object properties to the instance node and enable “Use Light Transform” option.
We’ll probably enable this option by default for the next major update.

Hey Andrei,

Thank you! This works
