OSL Map and Texture, when it will be available?

Hi guys, I’m testing new materials in V-Ray 5 for SketchUp and would like to know when it will be available? I did some tests with OSL available but they don’t load the parameters. Is there any way to edit the code to load into SketchUp. Thank you

Hi,

OSL is supported, please check the thread below on how to use it.

Hi Slavcho, I participated in this discussion but the data does not load? I tested several OSL models and none worked.

Sorry about that!
I will test it and get back to you.

Hi,

I have reproduced it(at least on macOS -Windows seems to be working fine). The issue is reported in our internal bug tracking system ref: SK-3797

Hi Slavcho, could you show me how you tested it? Because I used some available on the internet and also those from Chaos. Didn’t load the OSL parameters? What am I doing wrong. I downloaded the te texture and material OSL files

Hi,

This should be resolved now.
Can you download the V-Ray version from here: Download | My Chaos
Please test again and let me know if its working now.

Thanks!

Hi Slavcho, thanks for replying. Unfortunately I still can’t get it to work. I downloaded the file available here and some OSL files from the internet. There are no parameters for me. Please watch the video. Thanks

Hi henriqueb,

We do not have parameters UI support in the current experimental version of the OSL material and the map.
As I’ve mentioned in my other post:

A big limitation right now is that no user-defined OSL parameters will get populated in the UI.
This means that you basically have to hard-code the values in the OSL shader itself.
Supporting the user parameters is quite a challenging task but something we’ll add support for in the future.

This is something that we can add support for at one point but is not of high priority for now.
I’ll still log your request in our internal system and we’ll reevaluate.

Thank you for the reminder,
Konstantin
