this model had been doin its rounds around the SU forums… its a beast of a model.. more than 2.6 mil triangles…
couldnt do this using the earlier machine i had.. just testing the new hardware i got… :wink:

this image looked fine in the LCD i rendered on.. but lookin at it from this monitor, i think its a bit washed out… ::slight_smile: got any tips to calibrate LCD monitors??? :wink:

Whoooah! Nice work! It’s a pretty big file. You’ve got a great armament(Intel Q6600 Core2Quad 2.4Ghz // 3Gb Ram // Geforce 8800 GTX) in your disposal.

But indeed, a little washed out as you mentioned.
The volumetric light was done in photoshop I presume?

yup! the volumetrics was PSed in! :wink: a lousy attemp really! :-[
any ideas on how to make sure the screen is in the right gamma??? i keep struggling with it!! :frowning:

Those volumetrics look just fine. Nice effect.

I am struggling with setting up my screens as well :wink:
Back in the age of CRT monitors thing were much easier.
Now there is not one LCD screen that looks the same as another.
I believe there is a monitor gamma setup screen in Photoshop but it is not perfect.
…And the commercial packages (which include some colori/light meter hardware) are way too expensive for ‘normal’ people.

I think your best bet would be ‘eye-balling’ your monitor settings and asking other people on different pc’s about their opinion …Just as you are doing now :slight_smile:

im really mesmerized with the amount of detailing (both exterior and interior) given to this church by Paul Russam. where can i get this model? i would like to try the interior too.

welsh.. heres the non processed version…

i rendered it out in HDR and played with its levels and values… then i added the volumetrics.. :slight_smile:

nomer… i think paul has removed the model from where he posted it… i have send him a PM asking permission to post it.. will get back to u as soon as he approves! :wink:
